Estimates, not receipts
Car Fee Ledger applies the fee schedules and tax rates that state agencies, legislatures and counties publish to the vehicle you describe. It is not a government agency, does not register vehicles and does not collect any fee. An amount shown here creates no obligation for anyone: the amount due is the one your motor vehicle agency, county tax office or dealer charges. Laws, local rates and agency practice take precedence over any figure on this site. The method and its limits are on the method page.
Liability
Every figure is read on the official page cited and the engines are tested before each release, yet states change fees during the year and errors cannot be ruled out. The publisher is not liable for a decision based on an estimate alone. Please report any difference through the contact page.
Intellectual property
Texts, design and code belong to the publisher; short quotations with a link back are welcome. Statutes, fee schedules and tax rate tables quoted on the site belong to the public bodies that issue them and are cited with their source.
Embedding
The fee calculator may be embedded for free with its credit line visible: see the embed page.
Personal data
The site sets no cookie and keeps nothing you type in the calculators, such as a price or a county. Details: privacy policy and cookies page.
Reporting unlawful content

Governing law
French law applies; failing an amicable settlement, the courts of France have jurisdiction. Updated: 2026-10-11.
Estimate only: amounts come from each state’s published fee schedules and tax rates as read on the date shown. Special plates, late penalties, local add-ons a county adopts mid-year and the exact value an agency assigns to a used car can change the bill. Your DMV or county tax office has the final word.
